Karachi tioddler dies after akkeged sexual assault by relative ,Police detain close relative in case involving one-and-a-half-year-old girl
A one-and-a-half-year-old girl died while undergoing treatment after she was allegedly sexually assaulted in Karachi’s Qayyumabad area, police said on Wednesday.
A doctor stated that preliminary findings suggest the child was sexually assaulted, adding that the final confirmation will come after the medical examination report is completed.
Police later arrested the main suspect, who is a close relative of the victim, from his residence in Karachi.
According to investigators, police responded after receiving a report of the alleged assault through Madadgar 15. The complainant told officers that the suspect had taken the toddler out for a walk.
The child was returned home in critical condition and was immediately taken to a hospital, where she later succumbed despite receiving medical treatment.
Following the incident, funeral prayers for the young girl were offered before she was laid to rest at a local cemetery in Karachi. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
