Babar Azam Joins Imran Khan and Wasim Akram Among Pakistan’s Top Players of the Series Winners

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has equalled the record of cricket legends Imran Khan and Wasim Akram for winning the most Player of the Series awards for Pakistan across all international formats.
Babar reached the milestone after delivering a standout performance in Pakistan’s two-Test away series against the West Indies. The batter ended the series as Pakistan’s leading run-scorer, making 193 runs in four innings at an impressive average of 96.50.
After a slow start in the opening match, where he scored 23 runs in the first innings, Babar responded with a determined half-century in the second innings. He continued his strong form in the following Test, playing a crucial 88-run innings that helped Pakistan gain an important first-innings lead.
In the final innings of the tour, Babar remained unbeaten on 24 runs from 30 balls, hitting two sixes and two boundaries as Pakistan successfully chased down the target.
His consistent performances earned him a joint Player of the Series award with West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves, who contributed with both bat and ball by scoring 111 runs and taking seven wickets, including a five-wicket haul.
The award was Babar’s first in Test cricket and took his overall Player of the Series tally to 10. He has previously won the honour five times in T20 internationals and four times in ODIs.
With this achievement, Babar joined former Pakistan captains Imran Khan and Wasim Akram at the top of the list of Pakistani cricketers with the most Player of the Series awards. Former fast bowler Waqar Younis is next with nine awards.
