ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Sunday voiced deep concern over recent developments that have heightened regional tensions, urging all parties to exercise maximum restraint and take immediate steps to de-escalate the situation.
In a statement, the Foreign Office said Pakistan is closely monitoring the evolving situation and reaffirmed its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all brotherly countries in the region.
The Foreign Office also urged all sides to honour their commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and pursue dialogue and peaceful engagement to ease tensions and promote regional stability.
The Foreign Office reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to supporting all efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in the region through dialogue and diplomacy.

It added that constructive engagement and sustained diplomatic efforts are essential to addressing regional challenges and ensuring long-term peace and stability.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation on Sunday with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi to discuss the evolving regional situation. According to the Foreign Office, the two leaders exchanged views on recent developments and stressed the importance of exercising restraint, preventing further escalation, and maintaining dialogue through continued diplomatic engagement.
Pakistan has consistently advocated dialogue, restraint, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts to address regional crises, maintaining that diplomacy remains the most effective path to preventing instability and preserving peace.
Islamabad has also offered its good offices to help ease tensions and has remained actively engaged with regional partners through sustained diplomatic outreach aimed at promoting confidence-building measures and mutually acceptable solutions.
The latest conversation between the two foreign ministers reflects Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement with key regional stakeholders, underscoring its commitment to advancing regional stability, encouraging constructive dialogue, and supporting collective efforts to prevent further escalation.
During the conversation, Dar urged all parties to exercise maximum restraint and remain committed to the de-escalation process outlined in the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached in June 2026.
He emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy are the only viable means of resolving disputes and achieving lasting peace, security, and stability across the region.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace, Dar said Islamabad stands ready to continue playing a constructive role in promoting stability through sustained diplomatic engagement and confidence-building measures.
The two leaders also agreed to remain in close contact and continue consultations on issues of mutual interest and regional significance.
