The operation was launched on August 7 following intelligence reports about the presence of militants in the area. Security forces targeted their hideout and killed seven militants, recovering weapons and ammunition from their possession.
Captain Hamza Akram, 27, a resident of Narowal, embraced martyrdom while leading his troops during the operation. According to the ISPR, he was killed while pursuing militants during an intense exchange of fire.
The military said the militants were involved in attacks against security forces, law-enforcement personnel and civilians.
A sanitisation operation was later conducted to clear the area of any remaining militants.
The ISPR reaffirmed that security forces and law-enforcement agencies would continue counterterrorism operations nationwide under the Azm-e-Istehkam campaign.
Three Militants Killed in Mastung
In a separate operation in Balochistan’s Mastung district, security forces killed three militants and detained 12 suspects during a search and sanitisation operation, security sources said.
