Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have reportedly tied the knot, exactly one year after announcing their engagement.

The couple, who have been together since 2016, are said to have exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Portugal. Rodríguez announced their engagement on August 11, 2025, sharing a photo of her engagement ring.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez have built a family together over the years and have remained one of the world’s most high-profile celebrity couples.

Their reported wedding comes almost a decade after their relationship began and marks a new chapter for the couple.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have officially tied the knot.

The couple confirmed their marriage in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, August 11, sharing a photo of their hands placed together. Both were dressed in white and showed off their new wedding bands, with Georgina also wearing her engagement ring.

According to a press release, Ronaldo and Rodríguez exchanged vows in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on the same day. The intimate celebration was attended by their five children.

Georgina shared the announcement with the caption: “Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas,” which translates to, “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”

The marriage comes exactly one year after the couple announced their engagement, marking a significant new chapter in their relationship.

The date of Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez’s wedding carried special significance, as it came exactly one year after Rodríguez announced their engagement on Instagram on August 11, 2025.

The marriage also ended speculation that had circulated over the preceding weekend. Crowds had gathered on the island of Madeira, Ronaldo’s birthplace, after mistakenly believing the couple would marry there. The gathering, however, was for an unrelated couple.

Ronaldo, 41, and Rodríguez, 32, first met in 2016 and have been together ever since. They share a blended family of five children: Ronaldo’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr., 16; twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 8; and daughters Alana, 7, and Bella, 3, whom he shares with Rodríguez.

The couple have also experienced profound loss, following the death of Bella’s twin brother shortly after their birth in 2022.

In a December 2025 interview with Elle Spain, Rodríguez recalled being completely surprised when Ronaldo proposed. She said the proposal was unexpected and that she needed time to process the moment and the engagement ring he gave her.

Rodríguez, who has shared her personal life with audiences through the Netflix documentary series I Am Georgina, has previously spoken about how deeply her relationship with Ronaldo developed. She recalled that she initially never imagined their relationship would become so serious, but eventually realised he was the person she wanted to spend her life with.
