Following the resignation of India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, actor Sonakshi Sinha expressed her appreciation for the young protesters, crediting Generation Z for their role in the movement.
Sharing a video on Instagram, Sonakshi wrote: “Sorry, what I meant to say was that I’m proud of you and THANK YOU. Brb now… millennial sathiya gayi hai. 25.07.2026. What a day!!!”
In the video, the actor was seen performing sit-ups while holding her ears, a traditional gesture of apology, while praising Gen Z. The clip carried the message: “Never again!! Salute… salute! Look at me now, I want to be you I want to be GEN Z!!!”
Actor Alia Bhatt also reacted to the development on Instagram, writing: “Gen Z showed up! The rest is history.”

The reactions came after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) announced that it was ending its demonstrations after claiming that all major demands had been accepted during talks. Protesters had been demanding Pradhan’s resignation, compensation for students affected by examination irregularities, and withdrawal of legal cases filed against demonstrators.
In a statement on X, Pradhan said he was saddened by recent events and had submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that his decision was not about personal prestige and emphasized that India’s youth were the country’s real strength.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke told cheering supporters: “We have done it.”
Meanwhile, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi described Pradhan’s resignation as a “huge step,” urging Prime Minister Modi to apologize and show respect toward students and future generations. He also called for action against those responsible for violence during the protests.
